A woman was dead and another injured in a two vehicle collision near the Limestone and Freestone County line Saturday morning.
The incident happened around 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of County Roads 971 and 930. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2006 Cadillac driven by Sabrina Lynn Brewer, 35, smashed into a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Brewer died at the scene of the wreck.
Ashley Dawn Lerma, 25, who was driving the Jeep, was taken to Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia with minor injuries. She was later released from the hospital.
Both women were wearing their seatbelts.
No citations were issued and authorities are investigating the cause of the deadly accident.
