Four people were killed following a rollover accident near the Kennedy County and Willacy County line early Tuesday morning.
It was 1 a.m. when a group of Rio Grande Valley residents were driving back from a trip to Central Texas when the driver of the GMC Yukon they were driving in lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll over about three times.
Preliminary reports said the passengers were not wearing seatbelts.
Patricia Castro of Mercedes, Jason Anthony of Brownsville, Enrique Rodriguez of Edcouch and Sanricardo Ramirez of Harlingen were all killed in the crash.
The male driver and a 3-year-old girl were injured. The girl is in stable condition.
Authorities are awaiting the driver’s recovery to gather more information on the deadly accident.
Investigators are still trying to determine exactly who was sitting where inside the vehicle, and what led up to the rollover.
