A Central Texas man died in a pickup truck crash along a rural road in Bell County Wednesday morning.

The Department of Public Safety report says a 1989 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling along Farm-to-Market Road 438 about a mile north of Troy when the driver lost control in a curve, left the roadway and hit several trees.

The driver, Homer David Morris of Troy, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11 a.m. by Bell County Justice of the Peace David Barfield.

Morris was reportedly not wearing a seat belt.

An autopsy has been ordered and his body was transported to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas.
