A man died after his car was struck by an 18-wheeler on Highway 59 Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred at around 6:20 a.m. in front of BJ’s Farms on U.S. Highway 59 north. According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper David Hendry, a log truck was entering U.S. Highway 59 from FM 2782 when its driver failed to yield right-of-way and collided with  2000 Toyota car.

The log truck’s driver, identified as Jerome Charez Bryant, 37, of Garrison, was not physically injured in the wreck.
