A woman was dead and three others were injured after a multi-vehicle crash, including two motorcycles, in Cass County on Wednesday.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that the incident happened after 2:30p.m. on Highway 8 near the Sulphur River Bridge.

A 2001 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Regina Connor stopped to allow a wide load cargo vehicle driven by Michael Szanizslo to clear the bridge. Jerry Barnes who was riding a Harley Davidson stopped behind Connor.

Another Harley Davidson operated by Robert Beauchamp failed to stop, striking both the other motorcycle and the Chevrolet Malibu.

According to DPS, the passenger on Barnes motorcycle, Candi Barnes, came in contact with the wide load cargo vehicle due to the impact of the crash.

Candi was pronounced dead a few moments after. Her body was transported to a funeral home in Atlanta, Texas.

Jerry Barnes was taken to a hospital in Longview, Texas in critical condition.

Robert Beauchamp and his passenger, Jacqueline Beauchamp, were transported to a hospital in Texarkana, Texas and are said to be in stable condition.
