A three-vehicle crash at the intersection of University Drive East and Copperfield Parkway sent three people to the hospital Tuesday morning.

At around 11:20 a.m., a 2009 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by Betty Pennington, 78, of Bryan, was heading east on University Drive East. She attempted to make a left turn at the intersection into the northbound lanes of Copperfield Parkway when a westbound 2003 BMW 325i struck the pickup’s passenger side.

The pickup truck had an unprotected green light. It flipped over and slid into a 2012 Toyota Camry in the southbound lanes of Copperfield Parkway that was stopped at the light.

The occupants of the pickup truck and the BMW were transported to St. Joseph Hospital.

Pennington and her passenger, Gary Pennington, 59, of Bryan, had non-incapacitating injuries.

The BMW’s driver, identified as Glenn Agnolet, 58, of College Station, sustained non-incapacitating injuries.

The Toyota Camry’s driver, Bonnie Sowders, 51, of Larue, Texas, was not injured.

Betty Pennington was cited for failure to yield the right of way turning left.
